What is Keratosis Pilaris?
Keratosis pilaris is a common mild condition in which the backs of the upper arms look rather like dried out, plucked chicken flesh. Keratosis pilaris is hereditary.
The characteristic rash is caused by firm little plugs forming in the hair follicles. The plugs themselves are made of bits of keratin, the main protein found in the outermost protective layer of skin (thus the name keratosis). These plugged follicles give the skin a raised, stippled appearance -- usually called goosebumps. The bumps are usually skin color or slightly pinker, and do not itch. The rash is often not noticeable to others, except on close inspection.
Classically, the condition appears in early childhood, often around the age of two or three. Since the rash is associated with and worsened by dryness of the skin, most people experience a clear-cut seasonal variation -- generally worse in the winter. Although the rash changes in intensity from time to time, the baseline usually stays the same until middle adolescence, when it begins to improve. Adults who still have keratosis pilaris often experience further improvement during the middle decades. The average age when spontaneous improvement is first noted is sixteen.
Although keratosis pilaris is hereditary, the rash is more common in those with eczema, dry skin, or vitamin A deficiency (or a number of more esoteric skin conditions). The most common spot on the body for keratosis pilaris is the backs of the upper arms (92% of affected people have it there). Next most common is the thighs (59%). It can also occur on the face, buttocks, and eyebrows.
Treatment for keratosis pilaris is not necessary, and unfortunately, it often has disappointing results. With persistence, most people can get improve this aesthetic state by moisturizing and replenishing the skin frequently. You should start your treatment with a good, concentrated, moisturizing lotion. You can try an ointment such as Acid mantle, Vaseline or Complex 15 after bathing, and re-apply the ointment again several times daily. Still, there is no assurance that this unpleasant disorder will disappear or lessen with these creams.
If this does not help, alter your treatment to a medicated cream containing urea (Curel, Carmol-20) or alpha-hydroxy acids (Aqua Glycolic, Lacticare). To get these balms you will need a medical prescription, and he/she will counsel you on proper care. In most cases they’ll tell you to apply these lotions twice a day. In this specific case, more is not better, it may be too harsh to use with higher frequency. More aggressive home microdermabrasion can be done if your skin can tolerate it. The clogged pores can be cleaned by taking long, hot soaking tub baths and then rubbing the areas with a rough washcloth, stiff brush, or 'Buf-Puf'. Also, a good dermabrasion proceeding can help get rid of all the excess keratin, but it can leave scarring behind.
Prescription medicines may aid and soften, including some antibiotics like Erythromycin and Bactrim. If the puffiness or redness of the bumps is getting worse, you should think about the medical use of topical retinoids. The derivatives of vitamin A can be very insensitive for the skin, so be conscious of all the symptoms you develop, to avoid scarring or some other side effect.
BIOSKINCARE™ cream has properties that can help diminish your Keratosis pilaris. First of all, it softens coarse and dry skin by deeply hydrating all layers of the skin. Secondly, it removes unnecessary keratin and thus unclogs pores. Third, it is also an anti-inflammatory complex, so the redness and sweeling diminish.
It also regulates the production of keratin and it helps to attract moisture. It promotes fibroblast reproduction and the proper lay down of connective tissues.
When applied it also restores the skin's capacity to hold in moisture by accelerating the production of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans from within the deep layers of the skin.
It has enzymes that digest any abnormal cells, so the skin will slowly amend itself. BIOSKINCARE should be applied to the affected area twice a day to have healthy, silky, beautiful skin.
BIOSKINTREATMENT LOTION clears skin of keratin bumps and regenerates healthy skin
The product is made with the same base as BIOSKINCARE plus Salix Nigra (Willow) Extract and Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder for a more potent keratolytic effect that cleans the excess horny material of the skin by degrading keratin plugs and dissolving debris, damaged, abnormal and necrotic tissues. It decongests the skin as the enzymes in the snail serum and the natural salicylic acid in willow bark extract help to 'digest' all damaged structures into their amino-acid and other components, which also favors the regeneration of all the structural components of healthy skin.
It leaves your skin smooth, refreshed, soft and with use over a period of time it takes away keratosis pilaris, actinic keratosis scales, controls acne and reduces and even vanishes all types of skin blemishes: razor nicks and burns, roughness, blisters, scrapes, cuts, and the list can go on and on...

Ultra exfoliate rough scars and dull skin with BIOSKINEXFOL
Home microdermabrasion cream. Contains the same natural ingredients in BIOSKINTREATMENT but infused with micro-crystals so that you may rub it with your finger tips to remove old, hard, and tough scars or stretch marks by a physical breakdown of the scar tissues. Best also for oily skin and aged skin, actinic keratosis scales and pitted acne scars. Biological Skin Treatment Ingredient
Our products contain a biological serum created by a living creature. It is packed with enzymes, coenzymes, glycoproteins, glycosaminoglycans (hyaluronic acid), proteoglycans, peptides and oligoelements that (a) dissolve keratin plugs that obstruct the hair follicles and cause hyperkeratosis or acne, and dissolves damaged dysfunctional skin tissues by a process of enzyme exfoliation when applied at least twice a day on the affected skin areas for a while, (b) regenerate healthy skin by promoting the proliferation of fibroblasts and supporting microcirculation in capillaries, (c) scavenge oxygen radicals and the damaging effects of excessive solar radiation and (c) keep microbes in check by the action of antimicrobial peptides secreted on the skin and within the hair follicles.
It keeps the skin moisturized, prevents skin infection, repairs wounds, promotes scarless healing, and renews the skin.
The collection of the biological ingredient in our products is done by using a humanely method that inflicts no damage upon the little creatures from which we gather the biological compound that can not possible be replicated in even the most sophisticated laboratory.
