Stay Young With Facial And Neck Exercises

by Jen Hopkins

Not everyone is familiar with facial and neck exercises. Most people know about the benefits of exercising for your body, but they don't know the amazing results of keeping the tone of your face and neck muscles. Aging signals like wrinkles, sagging skin or under eye bags can be improved or prevented with some constant and quick exercises for your face and neck area.

Face fitness can include exercising several areas, from the eyes and forehead to the cheeks, lips, and neck. Although moisturizers and creams may help fight wrinkles, these areas often sag and look tired because the muscle tone is so bad. As a double chin and sagging neck skin often give away a person's age the quickest, exercising these muscles can keep you looking younger and even lighter in weight (as many often mistake a double or triple chin as excess fat, not poor muscle tone).

To keep your neck and throat looking better, try some of the following moves. One of the easiest is to simply sit upright, lean your head back and look at the ceiling, then pretend to chew while keeping your lips together. Repeat the movement about 20 times daily and you'll be surprised how quickly you'll begin to see results.

Another of the effective and beneficial face neck exercises is to lie on your back on your bed. With your head resting over the edge, slowly bring your head up toward your body and hold it for 10 seconds. Then, relax and put your head back down over the edge. Again, if you'll repeat 5 times or more per day, you'll soon see more tone and definition in a sagging or double chin.

The first thing you should do if you start noticing lines around your lips is quit smoking if you do. Another thing to avoid is direct exposition to the sun, and always use sunblock. If you stop smoking and do these face and neck exercises, this will improve both your looks and your health.

One of the easiest workouts for your lips is sitting upright with your head looking to the straight to the front. Put your lips and teeth together, smile as much as you can and hold it for 5 seconds. Then relax, purse your lips to a kissing position and hold it for another 5 seconds. You should do this at least 10 times a day.

With a quick online search, you may also find a facial exerciser that's been developed specifically for helping you tone and exercise your face and neck. These are typically inexpensive (less than $30) and may help keep your more disciplined as there's an 'apparatus' to use. Some popular searches will yield products to fight sagging skin, jowl lines (creases below the cheeks, from the nose to the sides of the mouth), and the ever-dreaded double chin.

When doing your daily workouts, don't forget or neglect your face and neck area! These exercises can be done pretty much everywhere from your office desk to your car, they are easy to stick to and you will start seeing results in only a few weeks. Take a few minutes to find more movements and exercises online, they will help your look and feel better for little to no cost, and the results you'll get are totally worth the few minutes a day it will take you to do them.
